Sandstorm is a hand-built fuzz inspired by the Black Arts Toneworks Pharaoh, expanded with additional control over gain structure and clipping character.

Five tone and gain controls are paired with a six-position clipping selector, giving Sandstorm a wide range of responses — from more open, higher-headroom textures to compressed and heavily saturated fuzz.

Sound

Sandstorm is built around thick, weighty fuzz with enough control to reshape both its frequency response and the way the circuit clips.

The separate Tone and High controls allow the upper frequencies to be adjusted independently, while Pregain changes how hard the front end is driven.

The six-position clipping selector is the heart of the pedal, changing compression, saturation, and attack without requiring a completely different fuzz circuit.

Controls

Fuzz — Sets the amount of fuzz and saturation.

Volume — Controls the overall output level.

Tone — Shapes the primary tonal balance of the fuzz.

High — Restores or emphasizes upper frequencies, allowing additional control over clarity and presence.

Pregain — Adjusts front-end saturation and headroom before the main fuzz stage.

Clipping Selector — Six positions provide different clipping structures and responses:

  • Germanium
  • Asymmetrical Germanium
  • Silicon
  • MOSFET
  • LED
  • Diode Bypass

Moving between them changes the compression, attack, headroom, and saturation character of the pedal.

Features

  • Pharaoh-inspired fuzz architecture
  • Six selectable clipping modes
  • Five dedicated tone and gain controls
  • Wide range from open, dynamic fuzz to dense saturation
  • Hand-built in the Seattle area
  • Individually hand-finished original artwork
  • True bypass switching
  • Standard 9V DC center-negative power
  • Power supply not included

Current draw: XX mA
Dimensions / enclosure: XX

Sandstorm is designed for players who want the weight and texture of a large fuzz sound without being locked into a single clipping character.

Your pedals are more than just boxes; they're sonic sculptors, crafting the very essence of your sound. To keep them performing at their peak, heed these sacred commandments of pedal care:

The Tenets of Pedal Preservation

  1. Unplug the Beast: Before diving into the cleaning ritual, always disconnect your pedal from the power source. This simple act prevents electrical mishaps and ensures your safety.
  2. A Gentle Wipe: Use a soft, lint-free cloth to gently caress the pedal's exterior. Remove dust, grime, and the residue of countless gigs.
  3. The Forbidden Liquid: Water, the nemesis of electronics, must be banished from your cleaning routine. Avoid liquid cleaners and moisture at all costs.
  4. The Sacred Knob: When cleaning knobs, rotate them gently, ensuring no debris enters the delicate inner workings.
  5. The Jack's Domain: Utilize a specialized contact cleaner to maintain the integrity of your input and output jacks. A gentle spray and a few rotations will do the trick.
  6. The Power Supply's Purpose: A well-regulated power supply is the lifeblood of your pedalboard. Keep it clean and free from dust, ensuring optimal performance.
  7. The Periodic Purge: Regularly inspect your pedalboard for loose cables, faulty connections, and signs of wear. A well-maintained board is a happy board.
  8. The Holy Grail of Storage: When not in use, store your pedals in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperature fluctuations.
  9. The Forbidden Modding: Unless you're a seasoned electronics wizard, resist the urge to tinker with your pedals' internal circuitry. Leave it to the experts.
  10. The Ritual of Respect: Treat your pedals with reverence. They are the tools of your musical expression, deserving of care and attention.

By adhering to these sacred tenets, you'll ensure that your pedals continue to deliver sonic bliss for years to come.
